Group work reflection

I would say group work is like Marmite. But you don't really find many lovers of it, do you? As a whole, group work is despised by many. There's always the fear that one won't pull their weight and be a bit of a let down. Or worse, more than one person.

I've been very fortunate in my fragrance group as I feel we are all motivated and work well together. It really does make a difference working with people you get along with - I have some friends who are struggling with their group so I feel very lucky!

The other week we had to do a SWOT analysis of our performance as a group. This was a great way to see what we felt we were striving at as a group and also find areas of improvement. Our strengths were that we stayed in constant contact with each other via a group Facebook message. We would all share ideas, discuss options and it was a quick and easy way to share files.

One thing I felt we needed to do as a group was to set short deadline, which would able us to get more work done. For a very generalised example, if we met on a Wednesday we could arrange to meet on the Friday, bring our findings together and continue developing our work as opposed to waiting until Monday. This was linked with our "opportunities" section, as we stated that we could met more in order to get even more worked done. We struggled to think of potential "threats" as we couldn't think of any major issues as a group in terms of work, it would be more down to the dreaded technological issues.
