oh so jem: Liebster Award

I've seen this award on many of my favourite blogs and couldn't believe it when I was nominated twice on Monday night! I've been nominated for the Liebster Award by the lovely Chloe from Chloe's Little Nothing and the lovely Rhj from Love From RHJ!

I think the Liebster Award is a great way to discover new blogs and helps those who have under 200 followers to be more recognised.

As I was nominated twice I've decided to include both sets of questions - I loved them all and didn't want to miss out on the other great questions!

Here are the rules for receiving this award:

Chloe's Questions:

1) Do you have a hidden talent?

I can sing... pahaha I wish! Although I'm pretty good at lip syncing to a song, if that can count as a talent?!

2) If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life what would it be?

Oo what a hard question! It would defiinietly be something Italian... probably my mum's homemade lasagne - you can't beat it!

3) Biggest style inspiration?

I absolutely love Alexa Chung's effortless style - she always looks incredible! I am especially envious of her gorgeous Valentino spiked heels *sobs*

4) What Spring/Summer trend are you looking forward to?

PASTELS. I can't wait for the trend to kick in - the lovely mix of pinks, blues, lilacs and mint greens - what's not to love?!

5) Do you have any pets?

Yes, I do. I have a gorgeous Shih Tzu called Daisy who is 11 (almost 12) years old, although everyone mistakes her for being a puppy! I also have some fish but we have a little shark and that ate most of the pretty small ones...

6) Favourite make-up brand?

Drug store: I've been really impressed with Revlon - they're nail polishes are brilliant!

High end: Although I haven't delved in the high end make up that much, I've been so impressed with the quality of MAC!

7) Where do you spend a lot of time?

Probably in the lounge, either watching TV or blogging in front of the fire and snuggled up on the sofa! I would like to spend more time in my room but I always seem to be downstairs instead, (and it can be quite cold) haha.

8) If you could live anywhere in the world where would you live?

I'd want to go there before hand, but living in New York sounds like a dream, or somewhere like California! Although London also sounds like such an exciting place to live... I can't decide!

9) Favourite band?

I don't always like all of a bands music but some of my favourites include FUN. and The Vamps - and who can resist a bit of One Direction?! I also saw Florence & The Machine back in 2012 and they were incredible!

10) Sweet or savoury food?

It would have to be sweet... syrup sponge puddings, cakes, biscuits... *drools*

11) If you could only shop at one shop for 1 year where would it be?

If I was given the budget definitely Topshop!

Rhj's Questions:

1. What is your favourite book, and why?

The Perks of Being A Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky, I don't think I've ever read a book that's made me so emotional and that was so thought provoking.

2. What sort of perfumes do you tend to purchase?

I guess I quite like the floral scents - Lola by Marc Jacobs is my favourite - and I've just run out of it! Nooo!

3. Where is your favourite place in the world, and why?

Oo I do absolutely love London!

4. If you were granted three wishes, what would they be?

1 - A breakthrough in science giving cures to those suffering with cancer and illnesses.

2 - To be able to fly would be pretty cool would't it?!

3 - A tap that pours tea with the right amount of milk and sugar... seriously though how amazing would that be?!

5. You can only have one of the three things, which would it be: Foundation, Perfume or a Hairbrush.

Oo that's hard! I'll go for perfume - in the hope my skin would be clear enough not to need foundation and use my hands to comb my hair (what an odd thing to type, haha!)

6. Why did you decide to start a blog?

I began my nail polish blog, Jem's Polish, after discovering blogs dedicated to nail polish - showing the colour, finish and people's views on the formula etc. I found this incredibly helpful when buying nail polish, and set my own up to share my comments on them. I then set up Oh So Jem to incorporate beauty, fashion and lifestyle - my three interests and passions!

7. Describe your style.

Day to day I tend to live in jeans, either paired with a t-shirt or shirt - if I'm honest I'd prefer to wear collared shirts and more jewelley on a day to day basis but by the time I drag myself out of bed in the morning I don't have much time to decide what to wear!

8. Where do you like to shop?

Primark is great for basics and often have some brilliant versions of the latest trends. I then go to Topshop to get more statement pieces and items I know I'll get a lot of wear out of.

9. Describe your bedroom.

Girly, pretty and cute.

10. What are your most loved possessions?

I don't like to admit it but one is definitely my phone - having Twitter, Instagram, Blogger and my emails all in one place is so accessible and makes them a lot easier to handle! My bed also has to be included - with my patchwork bedspread my mum made for me!

11. And finally, do you prefer a relaxing night in with your pyjamas, or a crazy night out?

Hmm that's a tricky one! As much as I love going out and getting all dressed up, I prefer having more nights in on the sofa watching films and blogging!
